So for the past few weeks I've been going to the Chinese Medicine Clinic of Kansas City for Acupuncture treatments by Mary. Since I've been constantly tired I thought, why not try this out to see if it can really help. I'm always up for trying something new. Well my first visit left me in tears because I was totally "messed up" according to Mary (who i have a really hard time understanding because of her accent). But 3 weeks later she says "i'm doing a lot better" and I actually feel a lot better! I have a lot more energy and I think my Yin and Yang are coming into focus. She said I wasn't eating enough protein so I've been trying to add as much protein to my diet as possible. So lots of cottage cheese, black beans, eggs, almonds, protein shakes, and protein bars. I think it's helping. The doctor also said I was really bloated and today she could really tell my bloating was down and that I was losing weight (but she said not to do that). I told jeremy and he said he thought I looked like I was losing weight but wasn't going to say anything. Jeremy thinks since i've been eating better I look healthier. But he doesn't like to hear about all the needle stories. I think it's kind of funny that twice a week I have needles stuck all over me, and a few weeks ago he was freaking out b/c he was going to get a tentus shot! I've also had a massage done b/c I was told by Mary and the county massage therapist that my back is "messed up/broken". So I had a 90min, not so relaxing massage done. She, Lisa, used "cupping" to help relive my muscles and bring stagnate blood flow to the surface. Though it didn't hurt, it didn't feel good either. I've been sore from it, but I know if helped. As long as I can remember, I love to sleep in the fetal position, but for the past few weeks, I've been "sprawled out" while I sleep. I told this to Lisa and Mary and they both say that is good for blood flow.
But so far so good. I recommend acupuncture for anyone who needs help with anything! She is amazing and can help with lots of conditions! http://www.maryzhang.com/

Bow turns 2!

Over the weekend Bow had his birthday pawty. Some of my siblings couldn't attend b/c they were out of town, but Bow still had a blast with all his aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousin. Bow spent most of Saturday laying around not doing much, but I kept telling him, he was having a party later and things would be more fun. don't know if he knew what I was saying but oh well:-) Around 4:00 family started to show up. He loved having people over. Last year for his pawty, he had a lot of doggy friends but this year it was just family. Maybe someday his family members will get dogs so he can have doggy relatives. We all ate and then had cake and ice cream sandwiches for celebration. Bow scored big with lots of treats, giftcards and a Kool Collar. After everyone left, Jeremy, Bow and I hung out in the backyard. Bow was ready to go in and hit the hay, but Jeremy and I were having a good time chatting and drinking our beers. So Bow hung with us, but kept going to the door and looking in and then back at us. Needless to say he slept very well that night! The next day, Jeremy and I were outside a lot so we had Bow out with us and gave the "Kool Collar" a try and I'm pretty sure Bow loved it! But he wasn't sure of it at first as he tried to "bite" it off!

a trip to urgent care
On Saturday Jeremy was helping Drew with a house remodel. They had just taken out a vanity and were moving it when Jeremy stepped in a vent hole. Not good...as Drew thought Jeremy had just fallen down but he soon found out that Jeremy was stuck knee deep in the floor. After a few tries of pulling Jeremy's leg out, Jeremy told Drew to "sawzall" him out. So Drew got the saw and cut the floor and Jeremy was able to remove his leg. After jumping for joy, Jeremy took a look at the "cut". It wasn't pretty. Drew called Shannon to find out what to do, but couldn't get a hold of her, so he called me...um I didn't know what to do. So a few minutes later I get a call from the boys saying they were going to Urgent Care. I meet them the clinic at Oak Park Mall. It wasn't a good day for the clinic b/c the waiting room was full, but since Jeremy came in with an open wound and had blood running down his leg and soaking his sock, we were able to go back to a room. I think Jeremy had the most "fans" of everyone in the waiting room. Drew, me, Larry and Shannon were there to give our support. Can you believe Jeremy has never broken a bone or even had stitches! Well as for now his "record" is still clean. No stitches were needed...there wasn't enough skin to do stitches. The nurse cleaned Jeremy up and away we went. Sunday was a slow moving day for Jeremy, as his leg is all bruised. It looks nasty...if you dare, you can take a look at the pictures.

My Cutie

Like I said, most people are blogging because they have children and can't talk enough about them. We have a dog, a super cute dog and I can't talk about him enough:-) Last month I had a professional photographer come to my parents house and take pictures of Bow. As the shoot was going, I didn't think she was getting any good shots because Bow was acting crazy and was out of breath most of the time, with his tongue hanging out and his ears pulled back. But I was wrong, the photographer got some GREAT shots of Bow. Here are a few. I can't wait to narrow them down so I can decorate the house with a few of the shots.
Why Not?!
Lately I've been finding myself reading friends and random peoples blogs. I truly enjoy reading about other peoples lives. So I thought this could be a fun way to keep other people entertained and updated on the happenings of the Gribbins. Most of the blogs I read involve kids...we only have a four legged kid, so that counts right? I also thought this would be great to help me scrapbook. It will be nice to look back and see what I can/should scrapbook about. I'm only about a year behind in my scrapbook...which isn't too bad:-)
