Jeremy's birthday weekend

Every so many years Jeremy is able to enjoy a long weekend for his birthday that falls close and sometimes on Memorial day.  This year his employer is giving employees a day off for their birthday so Jeremy got an extra long weekend that was much needed after countless months of working 60+ hour work weeks.  Hopefully soon (in the next couple months) things will slow down a little at his job.

Friday Jeremy was able to enjoy some family time at the puppy shower but most of his day was spent tinkering with our lawnmower.  It seems to be on it's 9th life and we think it's a goner.  Luckily he received Home Depot gift cards...so we will soon buy a new mower.

Saturday Jeremy got to sleep in until Hunter, Bow and I woke him up at 8:00:-)  We had made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and had his gifts wrapped for him.  The rest of the morning and afternoon were spent at soccer, playing in the backyard and washing cars.  After Hunter's nap we went to Jeremy's parents house to celebrate.

Sunday and Monday ended up being lazy days at home.  It was nice just to hang out.

Hope Jeremy was able to relax some this weekend and enjoy his birthday!

Hunter "forward" facing for the first time.  We had a carseat installed in Jeremy's truck and decided to go ahead a flip him for the truck.  I still have him rearfacing in my car though.  American Academy of Pediatrics recommends rearfacing until age 2 and I completely understand and educate my dad each time he complains about how uncomfortable Hunter is in his seat;-)   Working with SafeKids has really ruined me and made me psycho about safety!

A Puppy Shower!

I have always wanted to throw a puppy shower and over the weekend Aly and I were able to host our first puppy shower for Malinda!  In a few weeks a Basset Hound puppy will be joining the family.  After a lot of research Malinda found the perfect little guy and we can't wait for him to get here:-)

When I first told Malinda what Aly and I were up to she thought we were kidding but then I asked her if the date would work and she figured out we were serious:-)  So on Friday, a few family members joined us to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Huck the puppy.

just another day outside

The other day I picked up a pack of waterguns at Target and it didn't take long for Hunter to figure them out...well he mostly "shoots" himself but he has a blast!

it works!

He loved having Jeremy "get" him

And before the waterguns came into play I took some dry photos:

More Soccer Fun

About half way through the soccer season we took class photos.  The mascot for Lil' Kickers is a bunny and the kiddos had a chance to take a picture with the Bunny.  Unfortunately, Hunter wasn't a fan of the bunny so I didn't get a picture but Hunter was a big boy and gave the bunny a "high-five" before leaving.  Glad we left on a good note;-)

Hunter is really enjoying his soccer season.  He has come a long way since the first practice.  His favorite part of the hour is when they play with squishy balls.  He kicks, throws and chases the ball.  Most time we forgo the water break after squishy ball time just so he can get a few extra minutes with the ball.  Another favorite activity is the parachute.  He loves to shake it, run under it and is always ready to jump in the middle of it for a ride.

Hunter and Wes at Costco

Earlier in the month Hunter and Weston had a trip to Costco and had a blast.  It was so cute to see the two sitting next to each other.  Normally Hunter is the one who is always hugging on Weston but this day Wes kept hugging Hunter and it was too cute!  These boys are so fun to watch and will be best buds as they get older.

here we go!

hard to see in this picture but they are checking out the girl in front of us.  The coat and boots were metallic and caught the boys eyes..made us laugh!
