Hunter's first Soccer game

Watching Cole play soccer is one of my favorite things to do.  It really helps that he has great coach and a team full of good players:-)  I knew this fall would be a little difficult for me to attend games with Hunter.  But that's life and I know I wont be able to attend all the games:-)  Last weekend was Cole's first tournament of the season.  Melissa and mom kept me updated on the games through text so I knew how things were going.  The team made it to the championship game and I knew I couldn't miss it.  So Hunter and I made it out to the game with mom.  The boys were excited to see Cole's newest cousin:-)

Of course the game was full of excitement...always are!  Cole scored a great goal and after the game ended in a tie he helped sealed the championship with a PK.  So proud of Cole and his team.

Hunter did wonderful at the game but by time it was over he was ready to get home!

Here is a clip to some of the tournament highlights.  You can see Cole score a goal and his PK.  For the PK he is the second one in the black uniform.  So proud of him!

Wyatt turns 5!

Yesterday our nephew Wyatt turned 5 years old!  It's crazy how fast he is growing up.  Last night we went over to help him celebrate.  He enjoyed opening all his gifts and was too busy playing with his new toys to enjoy the yummy ice-cream cake:-)  We didn't get to stay too long because our little bundle of joy wasn't in the partying mood.  So we didn't get any pictures of the cousins but here are a few of the birthday boy and his gifts.

Hunter turns 1 Month Old

Wow...Hunter turned a month old a few days ago.  Can't believe how fast the last month has gone by!  He had his well baby appointment yesterday and checked out great.

11 lbs - 75% percentile
22.5" long - 75% percentile

Last week we had to start Hunter on Zantac because he has some acid reflux but I believe the medicine is working for him.  So the doctor is keeping him on that for now.  The only trick is getting him to take the medicine:-)

This week we were finally able to start him in his cloth diapers.  We would have started them sooner but he had a diaper rash that stuck around a long time.  But he is all cleared up so now it's on to the cute cloth diapers!

and here is his "just born" picture:

Our New Piece of Furniture

In 2008 we purchased our couch and opted not to get the matching ottoman because it was huge.  So for the past two and half years we have had a coffee table in front of the couch with plans for Jeremy to build another one that would fit the couch better.  Since we have a sectional, it would be nice for everyone sitting at the couch to be able to put their feet up or use the table to set a drink.  Over the past few weeks, I've been thinking about how nice it would be to have an ottoman to lay Hunter on and in general it would be better than a coffee table.  So I brought up the idea to Jeremy about purchasing the matching ottoman.  He agreed it would be nice to have but it might look a little out of place since it so big.

Over the weekend we decided to purchase it.  It looked big at Nebraska Furniture Mart and looks even bigger in our family room.  I would laugh every time I walked into the family room for the first couple of days but I'm use to it now.  It has been really nice to lay Hunter on and I think he enjoys it.  We now have  plenty of comfy seating for everyone to enjoy:-)

Love his sneaker socks

When will I learn...

that every time I pick up a shopping basket, I end up needing a shopping cart???!!!

Today I was able to make a quick trip to Walmart, so I picked up a basket to do my shopping.  But half way through my shopping the basket was overflowing and I needed a cart.  Luckily, I found an empty cart in the aisle and snatched it up to finish my shopping.

Next time, I need to just grab the cart...who doesn't end up buying more then they planned?

never again....

Bow meets Hunter

It's been fun watching Bow learn how to act with Hunter.  The first couple of days we were home, Bow was more about me and Jeremy than what we were holding.  It didn't take him long to figure out the routine at night....baby cries, get him, wake up my mom (she stayed with us the first week to help out), go into the baby's room, change him, feed him and back to sleep in our room.   Bow would follow behind with every step.  One night I was just going to change Hunter by myself but Bow made his way into the guest room and woke mom up.  Super cute:-)

Bow continues to get up at night to be in on the action.  He likes to lay next to the rocking chair while I feed Hunter and when we are done, it's right back to sleeping in our room.

In 6 months or so, it will be neat to watch Hunter start to notice Bow.

Meet Hunter Joseph!

On July 23rd at 9:22, Jeremy and I welcomed our little boy into the world.  We couldn't have asked for a better labor and delivery.  At 2:00am, I woke up with "cramps" (later realizing they were contractions), water broke around 3:30, at the hospital by 4:30, first epidural inserted at 5:30, still felt contractions by 6:30 so the anesthesiologist worked with tweaking it but later just re-did the whole thing.  By 7:00 I was finally not feeling my contractions and was dilated to 9.  Not much longer after that I was at a 10.  Started pushing by 8:55 and 4 sets of pushes later, Hunter was here.  The whole experience was amazing and at the end of it we have a perfect little boy.  7lbs 13oz and 20" long.

Thank you to all of those who made it to the hospital to welcome Hunter into the world.
