Hunter woke up early on Christmas morning (like every
little boy should) but he didn’t wake happy. I took him into our bed to
see if that would calm him but it didn’t. So we went downstairs to let
Bow out and to look at the Christmas tree. While we were looking at the
tree I could hear Hunter’s tummy rumbling. He really hadn’t ate much the day before so I
thought he must be hungry and maybe now he will eat! I gave him some
yogurt and he seemed to like it and ate a good amount. I thought that I
would fix him some oatmeal since he was eating so well. Well…once the
oatmeal was made he stopped eating. But at least I knew he had something
in his tummy now. We went back upstairs to wake Jeremy up. Once
Jeremy was awake, Hunter made his way back down to the tree to check out what
Santa brought him! He looked at his new toys and looked through his
stocking. Hunter seemed to like all of his gifts! One nice thing
that Santa did was that he didn’t leave packaging on most of the toys and had
them put together so he could play with them immediately.
After present time (which took a while), we tried to
eat again. Not a success. So we played with toys and let him watch
one of his Sing and Sign dvds. (I really should do a blog post on
these…he loves them and will sit and watch and sign along with it. So
cute.) Naptime came, and again he went down easily. After he went
down, I cleaned in the kitchen and then decided to sit down. I was
feeling exhausted. (first sign of sickness) an hour later my
stomach was hurting (thought I needed to eat) an hour later I was
figuring out that I was sick and that Hunter probably wasn’t teething but he
was sick. After Hunter woke from his nap we headed over to Jeremy’s
parents house. I wasn’t feeling well but thought, surely I could last a
few hours and enjoy the rest of Christmas day. Again, we arrived and
Hunter was being shy. I think the amount of people there and him being
sick played into his shyness. Before long he was fine and was playing
with new toys. We opened presents (which I don’t even remember…I was
trying not to be sick). Jeremy’s mom wasn’t feeling well either and ended
up having the bug too. We sat down to eat dinner and Hunter was actually
eating more than he had in a while. Made me very happy. But it
wasn’t long and I had to excuse myself…sickness was hitting a new level.
I now felt horrible and Jeremy took me home so I could be miserable by myselfJ
I called my mom to warn her of how I was doing and that H was sick not
teething. She then spread the word to everyone that I was sick. A
few hours later my mom reported that Aly was sick. The next day Wes was
sick and then finally my mom got it.
While I was sick at home, Hunter was having a great
time with his dad, grandparents, great-grandparents and great Uncle.
Jeremy said Hunter was in good spirits playing with everyone and spending good
holiday time together. I was sad I missed it. So needless to say…I
took one picture at Jeremy’s parents...bummed about that too.
