Big Cedar

Over Labor Day, we went to Big Cedar Lodge for a few days.  It was Hunter's first little trip and he did really well and had a blast.  On the way down he fell asleep within 45 minutes but when we drove through Clinton we got stop at a few lights and that woke him up and he was wide awake the rest of the way.
Little boy fell asleep reading his new book from Gran.

Wide awake...where are we going??

When we got to our cabin Hunter loved running from room to room looking at all the different animals.  The bad thing about our house is that there are so many stairs he doesn't get to "run free" so this was awesome to him.  After I got everything unpacked Jeremy and Hunter went to the marina to check things out while I cooked dinner.  They were gone a lot longer than I expected but I soon found out they were fishing and Hunter caught his first fish.

Our bedtime routine went pretty well.  Hunter did well in the jacuzzi tub and really enjoyed playing with new bath toys.  We read books in a big bed and ate cookies that were delivered to our room.  I brought our video monitor and was able to watch him fall asleep pretty fast in the crib they provided.  The little stinker slept better than he does at home!  Around 7:45 we decided to wake him up b/c we had a lot to do.  Jeremy knocked on his door and then tried to open it.  Well it wouldn't open and we figured it out was locked.  I didn't freak out too much b/c someone would be able to open it (now if in the middle of the night he would have woke up and was crying I would have been freaking out).  We called guest services and someone came out and was able to get it unlocked and then we were able to wake our little boy up!

Our day consisted of fishing, pool time at 2 different pools including a lazy river, a great nap and more fishing.

The look on Hunter's face cracks me up!

Most of the time Hunter just enjoyed playing with a big stick

"Hunter's Deer"  Hunter loved waking up and running out of his room to see the deer each morning.
On our last day we just had a pony ride scheduled for Hunter.  Every time we talked about going on a pony ride he would say "Hy-Vee?"  Meaning that he rides the pony at hy-vee:-)  But we would tell him, this pony will be much better then the one at Hy-Vee.  Hunter didn't know what to think about the pony but seemed to have a good time on the ride.  He kept calling the cowboy who helped him a farmer.  So now when we talk about the pony ride he will say "farmer".

Hold on little buddy!
