Easter 2013

Easter 2013 turned out to be a wonderful day!  We went to mass in the morning (Hunter did great; didn’t really yell out but when we were waiting for mass to start he said and signed “stars” and I thought “where is he seeing stars…we did arrive in the dark; 6:30 service but I didn’t show him the stars.  Then I notice the screen above the choir had a picture of the sky with stars on it.  Very observant little boy!) then came home and Hunter found his Easter Basket.  The Easter bunny left an outfit, PJ’s, sunglasses, sidewalk chalk and eggs filled with puffs.  The bunny also hid eggs around the living room for Hunter to find.  Hunter did a good job at finding them and putting them in his basket.  I don’t have pictures of the morning but I took video.  While Hunter and Jeremy were upstairs, I found another gift from the Bunny (he must have known we were going to church that morning and hid it so Hunter wouldn’t be distracted before we left).  When the boys came downstairs Hunter found a basketball goal!  He knew exactly what to do and continued playing until we left to go to Jeremy’s parents.

We stopped at Jeremy’s parents for an hour or so for Hunter to see his G-ma and Papa and to play with his cousins.  We alternate each year on what side of the family we eat dinner with and just to a quick stop by for the other side of the family.  Jeremy’s parents gave Hunter a cute outfit (Wyatt called it Hawaiian), a golf set and a riding toy.  After the cousins played for a while in the house, we all went outside for an Easter egg hunt.  Each kiddo had their own color of eggs to hunt for.  Hunter’s were camouflage and were a little hard to find.  Hunter did a good job at picking up the eggs but mostly wanted to pick up the brighter eggs:-)

Wyatt was a big help in putting the truck together for Hunter.

G-ma giving Hunter a ride in the box.  Love the look Hunter is giving Diane:-)
The best pic we could get of the cousins.  Nora was napping, hopefully next time we can get all of them in a picture.

After Jeremy’s parents we headed home for Hunter to eat lunch and to take a much needed nap.  Hunter was able to sleep for about an hour and a half before we had to wake him for our afternoon adventure.  He woke up fine but didn’t like the thought of leaving his basketball goal;-)

We arrived at my parents and for the next 4.5 hours Hunter and Bow didn’t stop moving (except to eat dinner; well for Hunter that was just sitting in his highchair…too much going on for him to actually eat).  It was great to have the whole family together and to watch all the boys run around and play.   More Easter gifts were given.  My parents got Hunter a ball and an outfit and from my Grandma he got an outfit, a squishy ball, bubbles, a book and a kite.  Round 3 of egg hunting didn’t go well for Hunter.  There were so many other things to do out in the yard so picking up eggs was on the bottom of his list.  Maybe next year he will be more into it.  My grandma had given all 3 boys kites and since there was a good wind all the dads got the kites out and the boys loved it.  Cole had a tough time getting his to fly but he did get it up a few times.  Jeremy did an awesome job at flying Hunter’s kite and admitted that was a lot of fun:-)  Toward the end of the visit Hunter could barely walk straight and his eyes were getting droopy.  I tried to get him to eat a little more since he hadn’t ate much but he still couldn’t sit still.  We said our good-byes and surprisingly Hunter stayed awake the whole way home. (not that it's a long drive but the car usually puts him to sleep)

After we got home, Hunter played basketball for a few more minutes while I was able to feed him some oatmeal.  He was so tired by this time so we took him upstairs and did our nightly routine.   We all had a great Easter and were so happy to spend it with the ones we love.
