While I was fixing dinner tonight, Hunter was playing in the kitchen and bumped his head on the table. Poor little buddy walked over to me with is head down, not really crying (he is one tuff dude). I looked at his head and it was red. Jeremy wanted to hold him so I handed Hunter off to him. I went outside to get the food off the grill and 30 seconds later Jeremy said "Erin, you better look at this..." The red mark on his forehead turned into a huge discolored bump. It looked horrible but he wasn't crying and of course he wouldn't keep a cold pack on his head. Here are some pictures of the little guy. By time we put him to bed, the bump had gone down a lot but I'm sure he will have a nasty bruise for a while.

Trucks and Big Rigs
Over the weekend we took Hunter to the Trucks and Big Rig event put on by the county. It’s a great way for kiddos to see and explore an assortment of trucks, tractors, construction and city vehicles. Hunter loves to look out our living room window and watch school buses, delivery trucks and pickup trucks drive by so I knew he would love this. He was in awe of all his favorite trucks in one place. Hunter sat on/in lots of construction equipment and different trucks. They have this event every year and I think over the next few years we will make sure to check it out; I know Hunter will enjoy it even more in the years to come.

Easter 2013
Easter 2013 turned out to be a wonderful day! We went to mass in the morning (Hunter did great; didn’t really yell out but when we were waiting for mass to start he said and signed “stars” and I thought “where is he seeing stars…we did arrive in the dark; 6:30 service but I didn’t show him the stars. Then I notice the screen above the choir had a picture of the sky with stars on it. Very observant little boy!) then came home and Hunter found his Easter Basket. The Easter bunny left an outfit, PJ’s, sunglasses, sidewalk chalk and eggs filled with puffs. The bunny also hid eggs around the living room for Hunter to find. Hunter did a good job at finding them and putting them in his basket. I don’t have pictures of the morning but I took video. While Hunter and Jeremy were upstairs, I found another gift from the Bunny (he must have known we were going to church that morning and hid it so Hunter wouldn’t be distracted before we left). When the boys came downstairs Hunter found a basketball goal! He knew exactly what to do and continued playing until we left to go to Jeremy’s parents.
We stopped at Jeremy’s parents for an hour or so for Hunter to see his G-ma and Papa and to play with his cousins. We alternate each year on what side of the family we eat dinner with and just to a quick stop by for the other side of the family. Jeremy’s parents gave Hunter a cute outfit (Wyatt called it Hawaiian), a golf set and a riding toy. After the cousins played for a while in the house, we all went outside for an Easter egg hunt. Each kiddo had their own color of eggs to hunt for. Hunter’s were camouflage and were a little hard to find. Hunter did a good job at picking up the eggs but mostly wanted to pick up the brighter eggs:-)

The best pic we could get of the cousins. Nora was napping, hopefully next time we can get all of them in a picture.

After Jeremy’s parents we headed home for Hunter to eat lunch and to take a much needed nap. Hunter was able to sleep for about an hour and a half before we had to wake him for our afternoon adventure. He woke up fine but didn’t like the thought of leaving his basketball goal;-)
We arrived at my parents and for the next 4.5 hours Hunter and Bow didn’t stop moving (except to eat dinner; well for Hunter that was just sitting in his highchair…too much going on for him to actually eat). It was great to have the whole family together and to watch all the boys run around and play. More Easter gifts were given. My parents got Hunter a ball and an outfit and from my Grandma he got an outfit, a squishy ball, bubbles, a book and a kite. Round 3 of egg hunting didn’t go well for Hunter. There were so many other things to do out in the yard so picking up eggs was on the bottom of his list. Maybe next year he will be more into it. My grandma had given all 3 boys kites and since there was a good wind all the dads got the kites out and the boys loved it. Cole had a tough time getting his to fly but he did get it up a few times. Jeremy did an awesome job at flying Hunter’s kite and admitted that was a lot of fun:-) Toward the end of the visit Hunter could barely walk straight and his eyes were getting droopy. I tried to get him to eat a little more since he hadn’t ate much but he still couldn’t sit still. We said our good-byes and surprisingly Hunter stayed awake the whole way home. (not that it's a long drive but the car usually puts him to sleep)

After we got home, Hunter played basketball for a few more minutes while I was able to feed him some oatmeal. He was so tired by this time so we took him upstairs and did our nightly routine. We all had a great Easter and were so happy to spend it with the ones we love.

Easter Eggs
I didn’t know if I would
get around to having Hunter color eggs (mostly because I didn’t know how he
would handle it) but I’m glad I made time to do it! Like other bloggers I
did the “pinterest” thing and baked the eggs in the oven. It worked
great and I think that will be the way I hard-boil eggs from now on!
Hunter enjoyed dipping the eggs up and down in the dye. But really
he just wanted to throw the eggs and put his hands in the dye….I didn’t know
how well it would clean up so I didn’t let him splash around too much.
The whole experience lasted probably 5 minutes before he was done and was ready
to move on to something else. He did manage to throw the last egg:-)
Soccer Saturday
On Saturday Hunter had his 3rd soccer practice. He had a big fan club in the
stands watching him practice. Gran, Gramps, Uncle Shaun, Aunt Melissa,
Cousin Cole, G-ma and Cousin Cally all came out to watch. Hunter liked
looking over and seeing all the people he knew. We had a “sub coach” so
he switched things up a little bit but Hunter did fine. He actually let
the kiddos play more with a ball so Hunter loved that. After his practice
Cole took the “field” with Hunter and they had a blast kicking the ball back
and forth.

Easter Bunny Adventure
Last week I took Hunter to see the Easter Bunny. To get ready for the adventure I showed him pictures of himself last year sitting on the Easter Bunny's lap and when we got to the mall he saw the bunny and was smiling and waving. I thought, wow, this might actually go well. THEN we got in line and I got him out of his stroller and the whining and not letting go of me started. I was able to get him on the bunny's lap...the pictures can tell the rest of the story...
