Santa Visit 2013

For the past few years we have developed the tradition of going to Bass Pro to visit Santa over the lunch hour.  My mom will take Hunter up there and Jeremy and I can meet over lunch.  Malinda brings Wes in for the visit too.  Next year I think I will either have to take a longer lunch or plan the visit during one of my days off.  There is so much for the little ones to do, it's hard to squeeze it all into an hour.

Jeremy and I have worked hard on "prepping" Hunter for the visit.  I even took him to see Santa at the mall a few times just so he could get use to the fact that Santa is a real person.  Talking about him and looking at books isn't the same as seeing him in person.

When it was time for the boys to see Santa, they walked up holding hands.  Hunter knew the plan; “sit on Santa’s lap, tell him what he wants and smile for a picture.”  I could tell Hunter knew he had to sit on Santa’s lap but got a very sad face but held back his tears.  Such a big boy.  Both boys were able to sit on his lap for a picture and then they took turns for pictures by themselves.  Hunter’s Christmas list included: A Big Truck, Dusty (from the movie Planes) and Jake the Pirate.  When he was talking to Santa he added in a Choo Choo.  Jeremy and I were really proud of Hunter:-)
After pictures the boys played around some more.  My dad was off that day too so he came along to join in on the fun.  I think the day gave him a glimpse of how his retirement days will be spent.  Now he is counting down the last week of his working career!

Our Santa visits aren’t complete until we take Bow to see Santa.  Hunter did perfect with this visit and even smiled for the camera.  Bow asked for a bone:-)
