To start the holiday off, on December 23, I had to take Eva to the doctor because she was developing a croupy type cough. Not fun for any of us but with Christmas Eve the next day and then Christmas, I wanted to make sure she was ok and had medication if needed. Her cough was worse in the morning and in the evening. The doctor said her lungs sounded good and that it was just in her throat. She gave us a prescription and said if she worsened to give it to her. Poor girl didn't feel well and you could tell just by looking at her.
On Christmas Eve she was feeling a little better and was coughing less. After debating on if we should do Christmas with my family (didn't want to get baby Sam sick) we decided to give it a go and just would try our best to keep the germs away from the baby.
We switched things up this year and didn't eat Chinese food but instead my mom made lots of different mexican dips along with burritos. After enjoying the food and taking a few pictures it was present time for the kiddos. Hunter, Wes and Cole had a great time opening the gifts and Eva had fun checking everything out. I think Sam slept most of the time;-) While we opened gifts we continued our tradition that my brother Andy started by saying/reading a poem. Everyone does a nice job picking out a nice poem and my mom usually puts us all to shame by her original writings that usually have us all in tears. This year her poem was all about her dad. Her words really made you picture the great man he was. Nice job mom!
By 7:00 we headed back home so we could get ready for Santa. We put out milk and cookies and read The Night Before Christmas. It didn't take Hunter or Eva long to fall asleep. We couldn't wait for morning to come to see what Santa had brought. That night, I think he brought something for Eva that I didn't know was on the list; her first tooth. We were up most of the night, I thought it was b/c she was sick (I'm sure it was a combination) but in the morning I could see a little bit of her tooth coming through:-)

On Christmas morning, we all headed downstairs to see what Santa had brought. A big garbage truck and excavator for Hunter and a dolly for Eva were a few of the toys that were sitting out. Hunter was so excited for everything he got. Such joy, we loved watching him get so excited!
After Eva's morning nap we headed over to Jeremy's parents. There we had more and more and more presents. All the kids had so much fun opening gifts from G-ma and Papa. We then had a nice dinner and relaxed while the kiddos had fun playing with new and exciting toys.

Just realizing that I didn't do a good job at taking pictures...Hardly took any! But I do know we have a lot of video of the two days.
